WHEN IS PEAK COLOR IN LEELANAU COUNTY?

Peak color in Leelanau County is typically around the second or third week of October. Locations like ours near the Lake Michigan shoreline are typically a week behind locations inland.

LEELANAU COUNTY COLOR TOUR ROUTE

This route will take you off the main path, down quiet country roads with an occasional seasonal dirt road. Take your time, enjoy the sights, and don’t be afraid to find your own path. You’ll pass through (or near) most of the small towns in Leelanau County including Northport, Leland, Empire, Maple City, Suttons Bay and Glen Arbor. The final destination is Frankfort in Benzie county.

The route will take 3 – 4 hours to complete without stopping, so feel free to pick and choose where you go as time permits.
